The Tatt doesn’t have to pay any taxes as the Water Tower is city owned property.
Apparently Landlord Stewart Beal thought the same rules applied to him.
If you can believe the hacks over at YpsiNews, Lord Beal owes $86 Grand in back taxes. That is a lot of chicken feed.
Apparently the reporters at YpsiNews are hacks. Steve and the gang got the amount wrong , Beal owes $84,000 not $86,000.
Wait, that still is a lot of chicken feed.
When it comes to Stewart Beal, I think of you as the “Quibbler of Ypsi”. The blogs, annarbor.com and markmaynard.com, seem to still be under the “Stewart Beal Spell” and you are the only one that posts the ugly truths about Beal. Recently I was out with a group of people and a woman I didn’t know was talking about how they toured a Beal apartment for rent and how dirty and smelly it was, full garbage bags etc… We all got talking about what a shame that Ypsilanti has such crappy rentals. Many of them said they would like to live downtown Ypsi (all young employed chicks) but Beal owns most of them. Someone brought up how they heard he owned tons in taxes too. I piped in that I had read all about that …and it made me curious… Got home last night, googled the story, checked your site, and never found out if he ever paid them. I also never found any follow up articles on annarbor.com or anywhere else, so I thought I would look it up on the City of Ypsi website.
Wow! I complied them from the city of Ypsi website. Some of his properties have back taxes due from before he bought them and I don’t know if he actually owes those or if they were somehow forgiven because most of the properties he bought were foreclosed, so I didn’t include them. Any property he owns where the past due totals were posted in RED on the City of Ypsi tax roles, I included in this total. The new total I got was $200,464.47. This is the first total I got, I didn’t go back and add them up over and over again, I am not a reporter, just a curious YPSI resident that thought she would pass on her late night findings to the Quibbler…I mean Tattler…have fun.
Beal owns 4 units downtown and manages another 4 for a total of 8 units. There are over 120 units downtown, so Beal does not own most of them.
If it is true that Beal owes $200,000 in back taxes, of course it makes sense that he is suing the City and costing taxpayer even more money
I am a tenant from 206&210 washington and was put up in a hotel while we did not have heat for two weeks. Stuart Beal is a piece of crap in my opinion. I myself witnessed him having one of the maintenance men reconnect the electricity after DTE had came and shut it off. He was also about the jump the gas line since that was turned off also but we (the residents) called DTE and alerted them. DTE then made him put a $40,000 deposit because of his actions in order to get the electricity and gas turned back on. The city was also not too happy with him and his shenanigans. Beal properties is one of the worst landords i’ve ever had and i’ve had a lot.
